This fine weaving has a history beginning on backstrap looms around 500 B.C.

The Zapotec Indians of Oaxaca, Mexico known as "people of the clouds," raise sheep, hand card and spin their wool, dying the yarn using colorfast vegetal and aniline dyes.

Using time honored traditons, they hand weave each rug creating a one-of-a-kind piece with designs ranging from traditional to contemporary. This 100% wool rug was handwoven on an upright pedal loom.
